We will finish our tour of this destroyer with a couple pictures of the very basic bathroom facilities that was, in the Navy, referred to as the head.

As you can see they were nothing more than a metal trough with boards attached across the top. There was a constant flow of seawater through the trough. I won't go into a lot of detail but as you can see there was a general lack of privacy in this facility. I'm not real sure why the one seat is painted red, ours were all black. I'll let you figure that one out on your own.
