The image on the below shows the steam turbine that was connected to the generator that supplied power to the ship. There were two of these generators, one forward and the other aft, both supplying 480 volt three phase power. The generator sets left of this turbine.

Like most other systems aboard ship, the switchboards were duplicated fore and aft. This provided a safety factor in the event of damage or fire. These switchboards, seen below, included breakers and switches for controlling the power and it's distribution throughout the ship.

As we toured the ship I couldn't help but mug for the camera one last time. I am standing in front of the switchboard as I did some 50 odd years ago.
