As you can see in the picture above, the concrete project moved on today, but did come to a halt when the rain moved in. I poured the 8-foot piece of concrete and had it floated before the first sprinkles started. It didn't seem like the sprinkles were serious, but then the rain really started coming down. So I covered it with whatever I had on hand to keep the rain off the fresh concrete. When the rain let up I had to work up the surface again and although it will finish out as flat without any rain dimples, the surface will be a bit rougher than the rest of the project. I left it covered the rest of the day as the skies continued to look threatening.
