Library and Emmet County Court House

This post card has a 1909 postmark and illustrates some sort of a large political rally held on the West side of the Library. The old court house is visible on the left and is our only image of that old structure. The old court house was torn down in the middle 1950's and was replaced with a shiney new box style building that lacks any style at all.

If we had not all ready been collectors of Estherville postcards this one would have made us one. If you look closely at the upper middle right side of the postcard you can see the corner of a building in the background that was built in 1898. We know this because Dan's dad's business (Brey's Radio) occupies this building and still stands on North 7th street. It is the only picture we have of this building in those early days.
