Emmet County Courthouse (old)

Ask just about anyone who grew up in the 1950's about this postcard and they will tell you it is the "old" court house. This is because it was torn down in the late 1950's to make way for the "new" courthouse. It is hard to believe that what we have all referred to as the new courthouse is now over 40 years old.

The next postcard is a scan sent to us by a friend of this site. It shows a nice view of this old building even though the trees obscure a small portion of it. This view is taken from 7th Street looking west.

If you would like a full size scan of this card for your personal use please send e-mail and we will make it available to you. We do not honor requests for scans to be used in commercial ventures.
