I have enjoyed taking photographs of railroad related subjects for a number of years. I can't really explain why, perhaps it is the mass of the equipment that is so impressive, or the complexity of the equipment. It may also be the geometry of the trestles, bridges, and support structures. And in some cases I know it is the unique architecture in old railroad structures. Up until starting this page I have not had a place to display these images in a way that made sense.
So although this section of www.breyfogle.com is dedicated to model electric trains, displaying real raildroad subjects does seem to make sense. I will break this gallery into sections for easier viewing. Unless noted otherwise, I have taken all the photographs and own the copyright to them.
