Notes for John AYLESWORTH

John and Eliza J. Aylesworth and their three children, Carrie B., Clarence, and Clyde are living and farming in Boone Twp.

John and Eliza and their three children, Cassie, Clyde, and Glenn are living and farming in Boone Twp. This census form asks how many children have been born to the family and the number of living children, obviously an attempt to measure childhood mortality. In this case Clyde and Eliza report 6 children with 4 living, which confirms the birth and death of Anna and an infant son. The census form does not indicate if the family owns the farm but it does reveal that Clyde and Glenn are both involved in farming, which is assumed to be working with their father on the family farm. Although the family is involved in farming the census form mentions that they are considered as part of the town of Hebron. It is interesting to note that Oscar Hugh Breyfogle and his family are living at the next stop on the census form. Clyde will marry Sadie Breyfogle who is Oscar's 3rd cousin.
