Notes for Heinrich SCHMICK

Heinrich Schmick, son of Christian Schmick and grandfather of Henry J., was born April 26, 1807, on the homestead in Maxatawny, and died July 24, 1897. He was a farmer, and in 1880, built the barn on the homestead property, the former barn having been destroyed by fire in the fall of 1879. He was a well-known man of Upper Berks County, and an elder of St. John's Reformed church, at Kutztown, and very active in the work of that organization. On May 29, 1836, he was married by the Rev. A. S. Herman to Anna Hager, born March 10, 1813, died March 18, 1878, and they had one son, William.
