Notes for Vera Marie NUTTING

Vera Marie Pride McVey

Boise - Vera Marie Pride McVey, a 96-year-old Boise resident and formerly of Rupert, passed away March 5, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise.

Vera was born Feb. 8, 1908, to William Swift and Ethel Griffith Nutting in Santa Ana, California. She graduated from Rupert High School in 1926. She married Chuck Pride in 1926 who later passed away. They owned and operated Western Metal Works in Rupert from 1946-1968. In 1982 she married Ray McVey, who is also deceased. She has lived in California, Missouri, Idaho, Canada, Washington, and Montana. She belonged to the Rupert First Christian Church. Bowling and rock collecting were her favorite hobbies.

She is survived by her children, Lois (Bob) Nelson of Cathlamet Washington, Wallace (Marilyn) Pride of Logan, Utah, Jacqi (Ed) McClellan of Boise, Idaho; daughter-in-law, Gerri Pride of Eatontown, New Jersey; brother Bill (Gwen) Nutting of Salt Lake City, Utah; and sister, Vida Payne of Sacramento, California; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren..

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Pride; parents; son, Sheldon Pride; daughter, Nancy Proctor; brothers, David, Myrl, and Glenn Nutting; sisters Enola Page and Lola Jensen.

A memorial service will be held later in the summer. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.
