August 12, 1945 – February 5, 2008

Gerald "Gary" Lee Meyerdirk, 62, of College Station passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, near Kerrville, Texas. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, at Peace Lutheran Church in College Station. The family will receive friends and family at home in College Statio

Born in Bay City, Texas, Gary was baptized at St. Peter Lutheran Church. He attended City High School and Texas Lutheran College and graduated from Texas A&M University (class of '72). He married Charlene Smith Meyerdirk at St. Peter Lutheran.

Gerald served in the U.S. Marine Corps and graduated from boot camp. He worked as a ranch manager in many places throughout Texas over the years in sod farming and landscaping in the local community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eleanora Meyerdirk.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and Greg Jackson of Midland, Texas, and Angela and Timothy Ramsey of College Station; grandchildren, Dustin and Danielle Jackson of Midland, Texas, and Makenzie; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Sandy of Cedar, Texas; and former wife and friend, Charlene of College Station.

Those desiring to make memorial contributions may make them Lutheran Church, 2201 Rio Grande, College Station; Midland Bible Church of Midland, Texas; or Texas A&M University, College of Agriculture & Life Fund, MS 2147, College Station, Texas 77843-2147.
