Robert A Schueneman Obituary

Sturgis; Robert A. SCHUENEMAN, 73, of 24654 W U.S. 12, Sturgis, Mich., died May 8, 1999 at the Vencor Hospital in LaGrange, Ind. following a short illness.

He was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Chicago, a son of Robert and Elizabeth (LINDE) SCHUENEMAN, and he resided in White Pigeon, Constantine and Sturgis since coming to this area from Chicago in 1940.

A graduate of White Pigeon High School, he was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during World War II in Europe.

On July 13, 1946 he married Jean I. SHUSTER in Sturgis. She died May 16, 1988.

An employee of the White Pigeon Paper Mill for more than 40 years, he retired in 1990 as foreman of the Beater Room.

He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center in Sturgis, the Swartz-VanFleet Post #138 American Legion, where he was Past Commander, and the Blue-Burdick Post #4896 Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of White Pigeon.

Surviving are two sons, Roger A. SCHUENEMAN of Sturgis and Ron C. SCHUENEMAN of East Berlin, Pa.; three grandchildren, Steven, Anna and Sara; a half brother, John BOUGHAN of Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Visitation is from 3-5 and 7-9 today at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Pastor Glenn P . Middleton of the Christian Fellowship Center, Sturgis will officiate, and full military rites will be conducted by the Swartz-VanFleet Post #138 American Legion.

Memorials may be directed to the Christian Fellowship Center, Sturgis. Envelopes are available at the Farrand Funeral Home of White Pigeon which handled the arrangements.
