Notes for Walter Sidney BREYFOGLE

EDITORS NOTE: Data for this family came from the family itself and did not mention a marriage prior to the one with Carol ann Lauer in 1987. A newspaper report shows a first marriage but this data is not entered in the family group as the relationship between the children to a mother has not been confirmed.

Miss Jacqueline Joehl Weds in St. Mary's

Miss Jacqueline Joehl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Joseph Joehl, 002 Alton street, became the bride of Walter Sidney Breyfogle this morning at 10 o'clock In St. Mary's Church with the Rev. James A. Suddes of Springfield, formerly of Alton, officiating. Mr. Breyfogle Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Breyfogle, 2418 Edwards
street.

Miss Joehl, escorted by her father, was preceded down the main aisle by Miss Martha Sharkey, maid of honor, Miss
Isabel Moran, Miss Alice Johnson and Mrs. Frederick A. Wuellner, bridesmaids. Pews at either side of the aisle were
marked with white satin bows and greenery.

At the entrance to the sanctuary Miss Joehl was joined by Mr. Breyfogle, who with his attendants entered the church from the north sacristy. Paul Breyfogle of Decatur was best man, and Donald Breyfogle, Dean Niedernhofer and John
Hale were groomsmen. Paul Breyfogle and Donald Breyfogle are brothers of the bridegroom.

The bridal party advanced to the high altar where Father Suddes awaited and the marriage was solemnized. After the
marriage Father Suddes read nuptial mass.

Max Hiendlmayr, organist, played before the wedding and during mass, and for the processional and recessional. His
selections Included "Bells of St. Mary's" and "The Lord's Prayer."

Miss Johanna Wardoin sang "O Lord, I Am Not Worthy", Gounod's "Ave Maria" and "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother."

Miss Joehl wore a gown of Imperial Beauty Imported Chantlly lace over bridal satin, and a veil of imported illusion held in place with a closely fitted Juliet cap.

The dress had a pearl studded collar, fitted bodice and long sleeves, and a full skirt which extended in, a sweeping train.

Tiny pearls covered the cap which secured the bridal veil.

Miss Joehl carried an elongated cascade bouquet of stephanotis, centered with a white orchid.

Miss Sharkey wore orchid, Miss Johnson yellow, Miss Moran blue and Mrs. Wuellner pink, and their frocks of nylon marquisette and lace were styled with off-shoulder effect and full skirts worn with hoops. They wore picture hats corresponding their frocks In color and material, and matching mills.

Miss Sharkey carried deep purple delphinium and larkspur, centered wllh a lavender hybrid orchid.

The bridesmaids' flowers were French blue delphinium, arranged with clusters of daisies and roses.

Little Caroline Breyfogle, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl, and carried white daisies in a small ornamental basket. She wore a circlet of daisies as a headpiece.

Her dress of white marquisette was made with a high neckline, and ruffles trimmed the bodice and skirt.

Nick Bavas was an usher.

A reception at the Joehl home was held Immediately after the wedding, and the house was decorated with garlands of greenery and white blossoms.

Woodwardia ferns and white flowers were used In decorating the sanctuary and altar.

Mr, and Mrs. Breyfogle are leaving tonight on a honeymoon trip, planning to visit southern points. Mrs. Breyfogle has selected for traveling a dark brown linen suit, flamingo hat and gloves, cocoa shoes and purse.

They will reside at 3406 Lincoln avenue.

Mr, Breyfogle is a graduate of Alton High School and attended Wentworth Military Academy, Lexington, Mo., and
Washington University, and is a student at Shurtleff College. Ha is a member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.

Mrs Brwlogle attended Marquette High School, Maryville College in St. Louis, and Monticello College and is in training to become a laboratory technician at St. Joseph's Hospital. She is a member of Alton Montlcello
Alumni Association and of Beta Gamma Upslich sorority.

Breyfogle-Joehl Rehearsal Dinner

Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Breyfogle of 2418 Edwards street entertained with a rehearsal dinner, honoring their son, Walter Sidney Breyfogle, and his fiancee, Miss Jacqueline Joehl, Thursday night at Hotel Stratford, in the private dining room.

An arrangement of spring flowers centered the table, and favors marked the places of the 22 guests.

Walter Breyfogle

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Former Alton resident Walter S. Breyfogle, 59, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 1989, at 10:34 a.m., at the Independence Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.

A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, Breyfogle was the purchasing manager and personnel director at Alton Boxboard for
40 years.

He was born in Three Rivers, Mich., son of the late Roy and Emma (Breece) Breyfogle.

Surviving are his wife, the former Carol A. Lauer; two sons, Jeffrey C. Breyfogle of Kansas City, Mo., and Eric M.
Breyfogle of Blue Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Lynne Christenson of Louisville, Ky.; three brothers, Paul Breyfogle of Decatur, Roger Breyfogle of Canon, Colo., and Donald Breyfogle of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two sisters, Marian Graves of Garden Grove, Calif., and Carolyn Bumbacher of Alton.

An infant daughter, Jennifer, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at 11 a.m. at Ellas-Smith Funeral Home in Alton.

Burial is in Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Save Foundation Inc., 1112 Broadway, Kansas City, Mo., 64105; or to Shantivanam, Route 1, Box 247, Easton, Kan., 66020.
