Notes for Harold John DUCKETT

Harold J. Duckett, 88, of 2460 4th Avenue in Marion, died Thursday, February 3, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Harold was born the son of Elmer and Eva (Keeler) Duckett on April 9, 1916, in Fort Dodge. On August 9, 1947, in Ohio, he was united in marriage to Margaret Elizabeth Phillips. He was employed at Boilermakers Local No. 83, of which he was a member. Harold was a volunteer policeman for the City of Marion. He enjoyed spending time at horse shows, motorcycling and driving stock cars.

Survivors include his wife, Marge, four daughters, Evelyn Meyers of Las Vegas, Mari-Ann Servey and Jerry Nibeck of Marion, Linda (Charles) Blackford of The Colony, Texas and Cathy (Dennis) Fish of Marion; and two sons, Clifford Duckett of Michigan and Michael Duckett of Springville.

Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald Duckett, a stepson, Terry Sorensen and a great-grandson, Noah Grabe.

Memorial Services: 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, Iowa. Conducted by: Bill Holly.
