Notes for Charles Harrison FIELDS

Contributor writes:

"Phoebe L. Myers [daughter of Alexander B. Myers] married Charles Harrison Fields born 15 July 1841. His parents were Alexander G. Fields and Charlotte Betsey Tayor who were parents to 13 children; 8 lived to adulthood. I have some information on the parents and the children's names, but I never followed this family. Phoebe & Charles lived in many places where his siblings lived. His oldes brother John Alexander Fields born 1828 married Sarah Jane Squires born 1834 and died 20 July 1871 in Hopkinton [Iowa].

"Charles and Phoebe Fields are listed in the 1870 US Census living in Liberty twp. O'Brien Co. IA. Charles is listed in the D.A.W. Perkins "History of O'Brien County" as living in the same section as his wife's sister and husband (William Milton and Abigail Breyfogle). Several of the Fields brothers are also listed in "Old Soldiers Who Have Lived in O'Brien County."

Contributor writes:

"In 1880 they lived in Beaver Decatur Township Kansas and then last November when the Nebraska State Census 1885 was listed on Ancestry, I discovered the family there. In 1890 they moved to Loop County Nebraska along with their children: Lucy Charlotte b 1871 Iowa, Thomas B. born 1874 Iowa, Mary C. (Carrie) born 1877 Iowa, and Lurinda Abagail (named after one of Charles' sisters and her mother's sister) born 1883 Benton County, Iowa. Lurinda's grand daughter Wynona Washburn tried to remember what her mother told her about her grandmother Phoebe so family did discover bits and pieces."
