Notes for Mary Jane BEVINS

Contributor writes:

According to Grace, Mary was born in England. She died on August 16, 1853. In her 1972 letter, Grace indicates that Mary Jane died on the ship while en route from England and was buried at sea.

Check immigration records to confirm

In the 1900 census, Mary Jane's brothers Joseph Bevins and William Bevins both listed their immigration year as 1845 which, if Mary Jane's birth date is correct, would mean that Mary Jane was born in Ohio or somewhere along the way to Ohio. By the 1870 census, when Mary Jane would have been 22, she is not listed as part of the immigrants William and Mary family living in Annawan township. Family immigration records and Ohio census information may reveal more about this Mary Jane.
