Notes for Sarah Anne BEVINS

Grace indicates that Sarah married Bill Gash and that they had two children, Lizzie and Willie.

The 1870 census lists the household, family no. 36, of a William Gash and wife Sarah living just down the road from immigrants William and Mary. William is listed as 40 and born in England. His wife Sarah is 37 and is shown as having been born in Ohio. No children are listed. This Sarah's age would suggest a birth date of 1833, ten years before the birth date provided by Grace Crone. Illinois marriage records do list the marriage of William Gash and Sarah A. Bevins in Henry County on May 31, 1864 so further information may be available to determine if this is the right Sarah.
