Notes for Joseph BEVINS

Contributor writes:

Joseph Bevins was born January 28, 1841. He is listed with his parents and siblings in the 1870 census at the age of 28 and is listed as being a domestic servant. His birth place is shown as England.

He does not appear in the 1880 census for Annawan township.

By 1900, he is back in Illinois living next to brother William. He is shown as owning his farm, perhaps the farm originally owned by his father William who had died in 1889. He does not show up in the 1910 census but again appears in Annawan township in the 1920 census. He is the head of the household, living with his younger brother Samuel. He is still shown as single, a naturalized citizen and as owning his farm. Naturalization records may give more information.

He died May 17, 1926 at the home place in Illinois and is buried in Fairview Cemetery south of Annawan, Illinois.
