Notes for John William BREYFOGLE, JR.

Norton, Hubbard, Ruzicka & Kreamer L.C. traces its origins to 1930, when John W. Breyfogle, Jr., opened his office above the old First National Bank building at the southwest corner of Park and Cherry Streets in Olathe, Kansas (the present site of the Johnson County Administration Building). Except for a period of time when Mr. Breyfogle served with the United States Navy during World War II, he and his successors shown below have practiced law within a block of the Johnson County Court House since that time.

The firm has taken several forms over the years and the important dates and changes in the form of management appear at the end of this section. The many lawyers who make up the proud history of our firm, in chronological order, follow:

JOHN W. BREYFOGLE, JR. - Began the practice of law in Olathe in 1930 and retired from Breyfogle, Gardner, Martin, Davis & Kreamer in 1972.

A Breyfogle Exit

At Close of G. O. P. Session, Lawyer, 49, Says He Will Not Be a Candidate

At the close of the meeting of the Johnson Country Republican central committee last night, John W. Breyfogle, jr., county chairman ten years, announced he would not again be a candidate for the post.

Breyfogle's statement was made after slates of delegates favorable to Harry Darby, national committeeman, were chosen, over the opposition of a pro-Halt faction to represent the county at the district and state G. O. P. conventions.

"It is with mingled feelings of regret and relief that I make this announcement, and I have no apologies to make to any. It has been impossible to please all.

"There have been many personal attacks made on me, which are to be expected. I do not earn my living at politics. I do have a law practice for a vocation. Politics is an avocation. There are many duties involved in the chairmanship and much time is required."
