Notes for Robert John PARK, SR

ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Robert Park, 51, of Estherville will be held on Monday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at Grandview Baptist Church in Estherville with Pastor Joel Jorgenson officiating. Interment will be held at High Lake Cemetery in rural Wallingford. He died on Friday, June 18, 2004 at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville after a short battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. tomorrow at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman funeral Home in Estherville.

Robert John Park, the son of Donald C. and Margaret E. (Simpson) Park was born September 6, 1952.

Bob's family lived and farmed in the High Lake area before moving to Graettinger in 1966. He received his education in the Graettinger schools and graduated from the Graettinger High School in 1970. He then attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg.

On April 7, 1979, he was united in marriage to Ida Marie Whitacre in Estherville. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville, where Bob has been employed by the City of Estherville since 1978. Bob was an avid hunter, enjoyed bowling, sports and drag racing.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marie Park; two sons, Rob Jr. and Erik Park; mother-in-law, Ethel Whitacre all of Estherville; brothers and sisters-in-law, LaVon Park of Graettinger; Chuck and Cathy Whitacre; Jeff and Lynn Whitacre all of Estherville; Becki and Mark Guritz of Spirit Lake and several nieces and nephews.

He has been preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary and James; father-in-law, Charles Whitacre and sister-in-law, Carol Wicks.
