Notes for Seneca BREYFOGEL

After leaving school Seneca engaged in farming and then embarked in the coal business at Reading in which he was very successful, but believing he was called to the ministry, he gave up his business and prepared himself for that calling. He became entitled with the Evangelical Association and his first charge was a circuit in eastern Pennsylvania. His ability as a speaker was marked, and in a comparatively short time he was called to larger charges, among those he filled being Morristown, Port Carbon, Tamaqua, and Easton. The results of his work were widespread, and he became a great power for good throughout his section of the state. He left a large estate.
