Notes for Clyde AYLESWORTH

Clyde and Sadie and their two children, Cora and Charles, are living and working on a farm near Hebron, IN. This form is very faint but it does appear that the couple reports being married for 7 years at the time the census was recorded, which lines up with other records.

Clyde Aylesworth, at the age of 40, registered for the WWI Draft. He was living and working as a farmer in Hebron, IN. He did not list an employer so it is assumed he either owned or rented the farm for his own business. He listed his wife Sadie as his closest relative as well as being medium in height and his build was stout with blue eyes and Brown hair.

Clyde and Sadie and their family consisting of daughter Cora and son Charles are living on a farm or a home that they own. It is not possible to tell if they live in Hebron, or if this is their farm that later documents indicate is 5 miles from town. Clyde is working as a general farmer with the children in school.

Clyde Aylesworths Will Observe 50th Anniversary

HEBRON, Dec. 17 - Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Aylesworth, of Hebron, plan to quietly observe their 50th wedding anniversary at their home east of Hebron Thursday, Dec. 18.

Mrs. Aylesworth, nee Sadie Breyfogle of Valparaiso, today forwarded to the V-M, the original news item of their wedding, printed in the Dec. 18, 1902 issue of "The Messenger."

The wedding took place at the bride's home on College Avenue in Valparaiso, and the nuptial knot was tied by the Rev. M. H. Appleby. The bridal pair was attended by Miss Minnie Kern and Lyman Smith of Hebron.

Mrs. Aylesworth also wrote that her father, B. F. Breyfogle, brought cigars down to "The Messenger" office the following morning after the wedding. She wondered whether or not the same custom was to be followed now that their anniversary was in the offing.

The couple have three children: Mrs. David Greenlee, and John Clyde Aylesworth, both of Hebron; and Charles D. Aylesworth, of Crown Point. They also have 12 grand-children and two great-great grandchildren.
