There are four separate entries for Forest B. Breyfogle in the Columbus Ohio City Directory 1887 - 1892 database. One of them carries a date showing him living or possibly working at 1098 Hunter, Columbus, Ohio. This 1889 to 1890 city directory lists him as a machinist but does not indicate the company name. His name on this entry is spelled Forrest B. Breyfogle. The second dated directory, the 1890 - 1891 Columbus City Directory refers to 1094 Hunter with the same occupation reference as a machinist. It is unknown if the address is an actual change in location, a typographical error, or a large manufacturing plant with different buildings, this entry is published as Forest B. Breyfogle. Another listing under the name of F. B. Breyfogle lists the previous address, 1098 Hunter, but indicates he is a foreman in a bolt shop. The third listing references Forest B. Breyfogle at 170 North Hunter and is listed as a foreman for E. B. Lanman Company. These three entries are obviously for the same person but without dates it can't be determined in what order they should be referenced.

EDITORS NOTE: Further research on the company name E. B. Lanman revealed that this company was part of the Ohio Penitentiary system. The company, located inside the Ohio Penitentiary walls contracted with the state for prisoner labor and in turn paid the inmates for their labors. It is assumed that Forest was at this time employed to supervise the inmates.
