Previous sources gave a middle initial of 'F' for Beecher, but another source indicates his middle name was Keefer. Since the other sources came from direct family members we are leaving the middle initial as 'F' but have noted this difference for further reference.

Beecher is mentioned in a publication known as the "Conquest of Southwest Kansas" as a prominent cattleman in Finney County.

"While Finney County is one of the largest shippers of cattle in Kansas only a few breeders are registered with the state board of agriculture. The only breeder of Aberdeen Angus cattle listed is B. F. Breyfogle, of Imperial, and the only Hereford breeders listed are Kinney and Byler, of Kalvesta."
