Notes for Sarah BREYFOGLE

Ellen and Sarah Breyfogle are living with their parents, George P. and Sarah Breyfogle. Ellen and Sarah are working for a dress maker. Also living in the same household are their sister Margaret and her husband John Strickler and their daughters Louisa B., age 2, and Frances M., age 1. John is listed as working for a cabinetmaker with Margaret keeping house. There is an additional family living in the same household, Otis L. and Martha L. Harvey [may be Hearvy or Heavy]. Their ages do not seem to line up with the other Breyfogle children and since the other children are accounted for it is assumed to be a boarder.

Sarah Breyfogle is found in three separate listings of the Columbus Ohio City Directories, 1887 to 1892. One carries a date of 1890 - 1891, and she is shown living at 762 East Main, Columbus, Ohio. There is no reference to employment and this listing is not specific if this was a home or work address. There is a second listing for her at this address but there isn't a date indicated. The third listing, perhaps in the same year as the previous listing as it refers to Location 2, which is a business name and location of "Old Ladies' Home" where she is employed as a Matron.

Sarah is living with her niece Lillian Strickler and her two sisters in Columbus, Ohio and is not listed as employed.
