Notes for Arthur Richard BREYFOGLE

The fifth child of Joshua D. and Mary Breyfogle, Sr. is listed as Arthur R. Breyfogle, age 1 in the 1850 Federal Census. This age is appropriate in comparison to the Lewis W. Breyfogle and Flora Grumman work, but the middle initial does not line up.

This child is listed on the 1860 census as Richard A., age 10. The age of 10 is appropriate for this child and since a letter between Joshua D. and his wife at the death of this child indicates that this is the first child they have lost it is assumed that the full name of this fifth child should be Arthur Richard Breyfogle. Since there is no further reference to this child exists we have corrected the original name from Arthur B. Breyfogle, but reference the previous researchers work in the interests of clarity.
