Notes for John Samuel KEELER, JR

John S. Keeler, age 23, was living at 501 11th Avenue Southwest, Fort Dodge, IA and working as a miner for Plymouth Gypsum company in Fort Dodge. This document disagrees with other research concerning his birth year. This document records 1894 and other research indicates 1895. John, or the draft board seemed confused about his marital status at the time of his registration. It appears that it indicates he is married and then written over the top is single, which disagrees with previous research that showed him married on November 16, 1916, about 6-months prior to the draft card date. He also reports that he has been a private in the National Guard for 2 years. He listed himself as short, medium build, blue eyes and brown hair. He further indicated he had rheumatism.
