Notes for Bohumir Thomas KEELER

Completes 25 Years in Meat Packing Industry

Bohumir Keeler, John Morrell & Co. employee, received a gold watch, 25-year American Meat Institute Award and Morrell Quarter Century Club award on May 9 for 25 years as a meat packing industry employee.

Keeler's service began on May 9, 1938, for Tobin Packing Company and he worked in the beef dressing and beef boning departments from 1938 through 1943.

After three years in the U.S. Army, Keeler started working in the maintenance department where he is an electrician.

If you had a day entirely free of obligations, how would you spend it? – “I think I’d go hunting part of the day and sleep the rest.
What is your favorite food? – “Fried chicken.”
When do you think the war will win? – “By the end of 1943.”
If you were to enlist, which branch of the service would you choose? – “The army. I would want to be a machinist.”
What is your favorite radio program? – “Red Skelton.”
Who is your favorite movie actress? – “Ann Sothern.”
Who is the most interesting person you ever met? – “My wife.”
What is the most exciting experience you ever had? – “The time when I was riding a bob sled and we went under a truck. We were going down hill and the truck was coming up hill. I felt my back scrape the truck as we went under it.”
What is your favorite song? – “You Are My Sunshine.”
What is your pet peeve where woman are concerned? – “I don’t like women who are stuck-up”
